Front Ensemble Auditions
Eligibility: 9th grade - age 20. Must read music but no prior percussion experience is required.
Expectations: Come to auditions with all music prepared and be ready to move to rotate through multiple instruments or sight-read new music if requested. Qualifications: While we base our auditions off of skill we also take attitude and teachability into account. We want members who are coachable, who come ready and willing to work hard as a team. |
Battery Auditions
Eligibility: 9th grade - age 20. Must read music but no prior percussion experience is required. Marching members must be able to meet the physical demands of rigorous movement.
Expectations: Come to auditions with all music prepared and be ready to move to rotate through multiple instruments if requested. Qualifications: While we base our auditions off of skill we also take attitude and teachability into account. We want members who are coachable, who come ready and willing to work hard as a team. |

Rack/Auxiliary: Be prepared to demonstrate some mallet skills. Perform a variety of grooves with mallet exercises. Drum Set: Scales- Hold a consistent Rock pattern- 4/4 Green Scales- Consistent Rock pattern with fills Block Chords- Play 7⁄8 Pattern (2+2+3 & 3+2+2) Guitar & Bass Guitar: 12 Majors Scales I- IV- I- vi- ii- V- I Chord Progression Music Reading Skills Cymbal Audition Music
*In addition, sight-reading and improvisation may be required. This includes performance of various visual elements.
